Congratulations to all members of Grampian Hospital Radio on the tremendous success they had at the 100th Anniversary National Hospital Broadcasting Awards ceremony at Bolton last Saturday. The station was awarded: the Silver award for Station of the Year; the Silver award for Best Special Event cover; the Gold award for ‘Moment of the Year’ by Kay Drummond, which the judges described as an ‘exceptionally moving, heartwarming and inspirational entry’; the Gold award for Female Presenter of the Year to Kay Drummond and the Silver award for Male Presenter of the Year to John Graham. These awards highlight and justly recognise the exceptional commitment by the Grampian Hospital Radio Volunteers, who do so much to bring cheer to patients across the Grampian Region, and adds to the honour of The King’s Award for Voluntary Service awarded to the station at the end of last year”.
