Soldiers paraded through Forres on Wednesday as part of a tour celebrating a regiment’s history.

The parade consisted of soldiers from the 4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (SCOTS), accompanied by 4 SCOTS Pipes and Drums, and the Regimental Mascot, a Shetland Pony known as Corporal Cruachan IV.

There were also marches through Nairn, Buckie and Huntly as well as a special ceremonial event in Craigellachie earlier this week.

Major Freddie MacNair, who organised the event, said: “It has been a wonderful week, enhanced by some excellent weather.

“Whilst the regiment is busy as ever, it is important to take pause for a moment of celebration of the past and present, whilst the battalion looks to the future.”
