One of the duties of the Lord-Lieutenant and his Deputies is to attend Citizenship Ceremonies. These are conducted by the Registrar in the Registry Office in Elgin. Those about to be made citizens of the United Kingdom may ask the Registrar to invite a member of the Lieutenancy to attend their Ceremony’.

The Rev Dr Hamilton Inbadas, his wife Grace and daughters Felina
and Erina became Citizens of the UK in a Ceremony on the 9th March conducted
by the Registrar, Elizabeth Lambie. The Lord – Lieutenant was in attendance.
Their son Darshan was born in the UK and so was already a UK citizen.
