Books of condolence will be opened in the below locations by 0900hrs on Friday 9 September 2022 until 1800hrs. Books will then remain open 0800-2000hrs daily until the day of Her Majesty’s funeral.

  • Elgin St Giles Church, High Street
  • Buckie North Church, Cluny Square
  • Aberlour Parish Church
  • Lossiemouth St Gerardine’s High
  • Keith St Rufus Church, Church Road.
  • Forres St Laurence Church, High Street

There is also an online e-Book of Condolence open to the public on the Buckingham Palace website at www.royal.uk.

The Lord-Lieutenants of Moray and Banffshire, Major General Seymour Monro and Andy Simpson respectively, will open the official books in Elgin and Keith with their signatures. Vice Lord-Lieutenants and Deputy Lieutenants will undertake the same duty in other churches. Books of condolence will close at the end of the day, following the day of the funeral.

Please note queuing may be required during busy periods. Limited parking is available, including disabled parking, at some sites.

Parking charges in Elgin will be waived for the duration of the national period of mourning to allow access to official books of condolence and floral tribute gardens.
