Lord Lieutenant Seymour Monro said of his visit

“Today I visited some of the police officers in Moray to learn more about their work, and to say ‘thank you’ for what they do for our communities.

“As I was driven around Forres, and during my visits to the station there and in Lossiemouth, I was told about issues such as domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour and mental health-in part exacerbated by the Covid restrictions. We also discussed the importance of a broader education and of better recreation and sporting facilities for young people.

“I was interested to hear how the police carried out their various tasks. I was impressed by the priority put on working closely with the community and their wish to be even more involved with young people.

“ There is no doubt that the pandemic has brought new pressures and demands , but I was left confident that our police were handling these with determination and common sense.

“ I enjoyed my day, and I am most grateful for the great service the police are giving to the people of Moray. They deserve our enduring support and thanks.”
