On 5th September the Lord-Lieutenant and Vice Lord-Lieutenant were privileged to present the Elizabeth Emblem to Callum Alcock in Garmouth. Callum’s father, John Alcock, a serving policeman, was severely injured when his police vehicle was involved in a car crash whilst driving to Balmoral. John Alcock was an armed protection officer for the Royal Family and he never recovered from the injuries he sustained in the collision, sadly dying 14 years later. John’s family and friends gathered to witness the presentation of the Elizabeth Emblem and to share fond memories of a remarkable man who died in the line of duty.
